The Greeks made a contribution the development of natural medicine but deep down they still believed in the supernatural. Do you agree? Explain why you have given your answer
The Ancient Greeks believed in both natural and supernatural medicine. They believed that doctors and priests who healed people have received healing abilities of the gods. Although there was plenty of natural methods of treatment of people and developed the idea of the four humors and anatomy studies, they also believed that many diseases could be treated only by supernatural means as asclepions where people belived the god Asklepios would heal them overnight. They belived that hundreds years because often they did actually work, most patients cured mostly by rest and the absence of stress no longer received real treatment. The ancient Greeks often explains most of what is not understood as the work of the gods, but things like injurys like a broken arm or a court had a obvious cause and therefore using natural treatments.
